How thick should a car magnet be?
30 mil. That is the thickness that holds a full-size door magnet flat against a vehicle panel at highway speed without the corners lifting. Our car magnets are printed on 30-mil stock in 10 sizes from 9×12 up to 24×24, with an optional rounded-corner cut.

Will a car magnet damage my paint?
Not on clean, undamaged factory paint. Take the magnet off about once a week, wipe both the magnet back and the door panel, and let both dry before putting it back — that keeps grit and moisture from being trapped. Do not apply over body filler, rust, or a vinyl wrap.
What size car magnet should I order?
12×18 and 12×24 fit most car and SUV doors; 18×24 and up suit vans and pickup doors. Measure the flat area of your door first — the magnet needs full contact, away from body lines and curves.
Do car magnets work at highway speed?
Yes, at 30 mil and with full flat contact on the panel. Check the edges after the first drive and periodically after that.
Can I round the corners?
Yes — rounded corners are an option and look cleaner on a vehicle. Square corners are the default.
